EU Regulation 2024/1038: T-2 and HT-2 Toxins in Food Safety Standards
To mitigate health risks associated with these mycotoxins, Regulation (EU) 2024/1038 amends the previous regulation, setting limits for the sum of T-2 and HT-2 toxins and emphasizing the importance of recent occurrence data in establishing maximum levels.
Effective from 1 July 2024, Regulation (EU) 2024/1038 sets forth clear guidelines for compliance with the established limits for T-2 and HT-2 toxins. Food products legally placed on the market before this date may remain available until their shelf life or expiry date, providing a transition period for stakeholders to adapt to the new regulatory framework.
