Cotecna appointed by SON to inspect goods exported to Nigeria
Based on Act n°56 of 1971 and subsequent amendments, the Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP) was introduced by the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the concern of unsafe products entering the country.
As part of the SONCAP programme, Cotecna carries out the Verification of Conformity of imported goods and issues Certificates of Conformity (CoC) in the country of origin.
Robert Massey, Cotecna’s Chief Executive Officer, said "Cotecna is proud to continue its partnership with the Nigerian government as a service provider since 1984, with this new contract destined to protect Nigerian consumers from counterfeit or dangerous goods.”
